Tasting Notes

As Pierre Lurton, president of Château Cheval Blanc, says: "I have a symphony orchestra, why not let all the elements play?". Thus was born Petit Cheval by Château Cheval Blanc, a wine that wasn’t conceived to be a second vin, but rather a different interpretation of this extraordinary terroir. Thus, from the 50 parcels of the domaine, the same ones that make up Cheval Blanc, come the grapes for the blend of this wine. Different, of course, because the interpretation they want to give is different: a more immediate wine, which stands out on the nose for its hints of dark-skinned fruit (blueberry and plum), thanks to a blend with a prevalence of merlot (60%) and a minority share of cabernet (33% sauvignon, 7% franc). In the mouth it’s crunchy, fresh and with a nice dry tannin.
We can only applaud Pierre Lurton: his orchestra, with Le Petit Cheval, once again this year played divine music.
